About this treatment
An FDA-approved semaglutide injection for chronic weight management in eligible patients, alongside nutrition and physical activity changes. FDA approval applies to specific products and indications; your prescribed use may be off-label.
The science
Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors involved in appetite regulation and glucose-dependent insulin release. It also slows stomach emptying and may reduce food intake.
Your clinician considers your symptoms, medical history, and other medicines before prescribing. Follow-up helps assess your response and whether treatment remains appropriate.
Benefits & evidence
May support clinically meaningful weight reduction.
May help reduce appetite.
Certain patients have additional approved cardiovascular benefits.
Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.
Your next steps
Pick your treatment, plan length and state, then check out.
Share your health history and goals in a secure online form.
A licensed clinician reviews your intake, orders any required labs and decides if treatment is right for you.
If approved, your medication ships discreetly, with follow-up care along the way.
Safety information
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, and reduced appetite.
Do not use with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2; avoid during pregnancy and discuss pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, severe gastroparesis, and diabetes medicines. Seek prompt care for severe persistent abdominal pain, dehydration, or allergic symptoms. Stop at least two months before a planned pregnancy and discuss diabetic retinopathy.
This is an FDA-approved medication. Some uses may be off-label; your clinician decides whether it is appropriate for you.
